10.19.15 Star Trek Renegades Kickstarter Announcement On September 8th, 1966, Gene Roddenberry changed the course of science fiction forever when the first episode of Star Trek—"The Man Trap"—aired on NBC, launching Star Trek into the universe of our imaginations. Three years and 79 episodes later, Star Trek left primetime television and did anything but die. Today, Star Trek has seen 5 network series and 12 movies, creating a world-wide phenomenon that will undoubtedly last until the end of time. Truly, Star Trek is open to an absolute universe of possibilities and today, Gene Roddenberry's inspiring view of the future is being kept alive by you, the fans. On August 24th, 2015, thanks to our wonderful donors, we debuted the pilot episode of one of those universal Trek possibilities and Star Trek Renegades released to critical acclaim and great excitement from fans across the globe Our legions of fans were the ones that made this all possible and for that, we humbly thank you. Now, get ready, because Renegades is preparing to launch production of episodes 2 and 3! Please check out Walter Koenig's video, as he announces what everyone has been anxiously waiting to hear. Our Kickstarter project will provide you with a treasure trove of exciting new opportunities that will allow you to be a part of this great journey and on October 28th, we'll lay out all the details for you. From great new memorabilia to exciting new story-telling mediums and even a chance to actually become a literal part of the Renegades universe; with your help, we can keep Gene's vision alive for another 50 years. These new episodes will take the story to new heights, introducing new cast members, as well as bringing back some of Star Trek's most beloved characters from Deep Space Nine and Star Trek Voyager. Every part of production is being ramped up, from the creative team involved in the scripts, as well as the design team, wardrobe, and many more Star Trek actors, as Renegades moves into creating and producing the first full 12-episode season. Furthermore, these next two episodes will be the swan song of Admiral Pavel Chekov, as Walter announced that these will be his last in a Starfleet uniform, spanning a career that began with the original series 2nd season episode of "Catspaw." Gene Roddenberry created one of the most beloved genres in science fiction, spanning television, movies, games, books, and more.
