Subject: Federal Law: Title 18. Section 2071Former United States Attorney General Michael Mukasey tells MSNBC that not only is Hillary Clinton's private email server illegal, it "disqualifies" her from holding any federal office.Such as, say, President of the United States."If you do this or that bad thing, you've essentially disqualified yourself as being the leader of the free world," said Mukasey, referring to the illegal server and the illegal handling of classified materials.Mukasey specifically points to one federal law, Title 18. Section 2071.For those of us who do not have United States Code committed to memory, here's what it says:Whoever willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, or destroys, or attempts to do so, or, with intent to do so takes and carries away any record, proceeding, map, book, paper, document, or other thing, filed or deposited with any clerk or officer of any court of the United States, or in any public office, or with any judicial or public officer of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
Whoever, having the custody of any such record, proceeding, map, book, document, paper, or other thing, willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys the same, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both; and shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States. As used in this subsection, the term "office" does not include the office held by any person as a retired officer of the Armed Forces of the United States.Yes, it explicitly states "shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States."Shouldn't voters know that? The media won't tell them. So it's up to us. Can you help hold Hillary accountable?

Hillary Clinton has a race problem — and it’s resurfacing at a dangerous time - Salon.com
Fwd: pass it along
Hillary in Beaumont, Texas -
Hillary Clinton made a campaign stop yesterday in Beaumont, Texas. Only six people were there to greet her. Her security detail outnumbered her supporters by quite a bit. She wouldn't talk, wave to or even acknowledge those there to greet her. As bad as that is, it's not the real story here. The real story is who she took a private meeting with.
After landing, Clinton headed off to a fundraiser in West Beaumont, where she was greeted by around 150-200 Muslims, most of whom were of Pakistani origin. The event was held by Pakistani businessman Tahir Javed and Hillary raised approximately $500,000 by pandering to Muslims, making it "one of the top five private fundraisers Clinton has had in this country." She's bought and paid for by them. Spread this far and wide. You will not see it on national news but this is what is going on. Shelia Jackson Lee was there as well.

Man arrested by U.S. Marshals over student loan default [feedly]

Man arrested by U.S. Marshals over student loan default
// Personal Liberty Digest™
When you think of the kind of fugitives U.S. Marshals routinely pursue at behest of the federal court system, you may picture dangerous international criminals, prolific bank robbers or ruthless murderers. But you'd probably be surprised to learn that the federal law enforcement agency is sending heavily armed officers to drag people into court over delinquent student loans.
So too was Paul Aker, according to Fox 26 in Houston, when seven agents dressed in full combat gear arrived at his home near Houston to collect a debt on a student loan he took out way back in 1987.
Aker said he first thought something was up when he noticed a strange vehicle parked outside his home. When a suspicious person approached him, he retreated into his house as most people would. But later that day, the federal government's heavily armed henchmen showed up in full force.
"They grabbed me, they threw me down," the 48-year-old told local reporters. "Local PD is just standing there."
Aker was unsurprisingly very confused by the government attack and wouldn't learn until later that it was related to a $1,500 student loan debt from nearly three decades ago.
"I say, 'What is this all about?'" Aker said. "They say, 'Shut up, you know what this is all about.' I don't have a clue."
Aker was then placed into the back of a truck and hauled to court where a "prosecutor"— actually a collection lawyer— informed him that he would be forced to pay $5,700 for the loan and its interest in addition to $1,300 to cover the cost of the government operation to apprehend him.
When the question of why the Marshals were so heavily armed came up, the agency claimed it was because Aker is a registered gun owner.
Aker rightly pointed out that the government's overzealous debt-collection mission could have ended tragically.
"It's out of control. Out of control," he said. "What if they had seen a gun on me? They would have shot me for 1,500 bucks."
Aker's story is shocking, but it isn't unique.
According to a source familiar with the U.S. Marshals' debt collection practices, the agency is planning to initiate between 1,200 and 1,500 identical operations in the months ahead.
And as student loans become increasingly prevalent while economic realities make it harder and harder for borrowers to meet their payment obligations, the problem could get much worse.
Currently, some 70 percent of all bachelor's degree recipient graduate with student loan debts. The average burden for borrowers is about $35,000.
As of 2009, student loan borrowers who graduated had a default rate of around 3.7 percent and those who dropped out of school had a default rate of 16.8 percent. As a whole, just under half of student loan borrowers are either still in school and not making student loan payments or they've had payments deferred due to economic hardships.
The Obama administration has done its best to exacerbate the problem.
According to the Treasury Department, the amount of student loan debt owed to the federal government has increased by 463 percent to $674,580,000,000 in the years since President Barack Obama took office. The major increase is due in part to the Health Care Education Reconciliation Act — one of the laws making up Obamacare — which essentially made it easier for students to borrow money directly from the Treasury.
Arrests like Aker's are the result of how student loan debt differs from other forms of debt. Student loans cannot be discharged through bankruptcy court like other forms of consumer debt and government-backed collectors have more leeway in using extreme tactics to collect the debts than do other types of lenders. So when a student loan issuer is able to get a ruling in federal court, which is becoming more common, a borrower's failure to pay puts them in the Marshal's crosshairs.

More voices tell Hillary it's over
// Personal Liberty Digest™
As Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign continues to disappoint Democrats, you can add a famous Watergate reporter and a former top U.S. security official to the list of people saying her presidential ambitions are doomed.
Carl Bernstein gained international notoriety for the reporting he and Bob Woodward did on the scandal that disgraced President Richard Nixon. These days, he's watching another corrupt politician suffocate under the weight of a mountain of scandals.
The veteran journalist says Clinton ought to come clean with the American people while she still has a choice in the matter.
"She has to acknowledge she's made some terrible misjudgments and errors, particularly on the server," he said on CNN.
"The vast right-wing conspiracy didn't put the server in her damn closet," Bernstein continued. "She's going to have to get by this thing, and she's going to have to acknowledge a terrible misjudgment it seems to be here."
Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn (Ret.), who headed the Defense Intelligence Agency under the Obama administration between 2012 and 2014, similarly noted that Clinton seems to be the only person who doesn't grasp the seriousness of her malfeasance.
"I think Hillary Clinton, for the good of the country, should step down and let this FBI investigation play out," he told the Daily Caller.
Flynn said that he and other people familiar with the nation's strict security protocols are shocked that anyone in the Clinton camp would believe it acceptable to remove information from the government's Special Access Program (SAP) and place it on the former top diplomat's private server.
"Someone who does this is completely irresponsible, but totally unaccountable and shows a streak of arrogance to the American public that is unworthy of anyone thinking they can run for President of the United States," he said.
Flynn added: "I don't think anybody should be talking about her being potentially the next President of the United States."
Clinton's problems are sure to worsen with the State Department's slated release of more than 500 additional emails from her tenure over the weekend. Officials also say they will release "all remaining documents" by the end of the month.
Keep up with the latest news of Clinton's downfall at Hillary Files.

Birds of Prey May Be Deliberately Spreading Fires [feedly]

Birds of Prey May Be Deliberately Spreading Fires
// Neatorama
(Photo: Ed Dunens)
Witnesses in Australia have seen black kites and brown falcons carrying burning twigs to dry areas, then dropping them, spreading wildfires in the Australian bush.
Why? Because fire drives small food animals, such as mice and lizards, out of hiding to escape the fire. Then they are visible and vulnerable to the birds. One witness named Bob Gosford explained:
Mr Gosford told the IFL Science website: 'Reptiles, frogs and insects rush out from the fire, and there are birds that wait in front, right at the foot of the fire, waiting to catch them.
'Small fires often attract so many birds that there is insufficient fleeing prey for all, so a bird that was being beaten to its food might benefit from starting a new fire with less competition.'
The researchers found numerous accounts from Aborigines, several firefighters as well as 14 Bush rangers who reported birds carrying burning sticks.
Scientists are a bit more skeptical:
Steve Debus, from the University of New England, an expert in predatory birds said he believed it would be difficult for researchers to distinguish between birds incidentally grasping burning twigs with prey and those deliberately picking them up.
'However, I think black kites and brown falcons are sufficiently intelligent to intentionally spread fires by dropping burning embers, because black kites have been seen to drop bread scraps from picnic areas into nearby waterholes to bait fish within striking range.' Dr Debus said.

Supreme Court halts Obama’s plan to dramatically reduce carbon emissions [feedly]

Supreme Court halts Obama's plan to dramatically reduce carbon emissions
// The Verge
The US Supreme Court placed a temporary halt on a wide-reaching plan to curb carbon emissions from power plants, in a major setback to the Obama administration's plan to shift the US to clean energy. In a 5-4 decision, the court granted a stay to opponents of the Environmental Protection Agency's Clean Power Plan, which aims to cut carbon pollution 32 percent below 2005 levels by 2030. States would likely have to limit their use of coal-fired power plants to accomplish this, or else shift over to more efficient technologies at their coal plants.
The plan is on hold pending a court ruling
More than half of US states challenged the EPA plan, which relies on executive powers granted by the 1970 Clean Air Act. The states say this action is overreach by the federal government and have been pushing for the plan to be halted. Its first steps would have gone into effect this year, with a September 6th deadline for states to submit their plan for curbing carbon emissions, according to Bloomberg. That will likely no longer be enforced. The EPA rules will now be on hold until a court can rule on them. Bloomberg reports that a federal appeals court will hear arguments in June and likely make a ruling later this year. If the states lose, the case may proceed to the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court's decision to halt the EPA's rules is somewhat more than a temporary setback. It also signals that the court is likely leaning in the states' favor, with a majority of justices believing there's good reason to grant a stay. It suggests they believe these are onerous rules that may well present problems for the petitioners before being overturned. That's also bad news for Obama, the EPA, and really anyone hoping to see the world combat climate change rather than be destroyed by increasingly powerful effects, like rising sea levels and crop shortages.

Central banks ‘out of ammo’ to reverse economic meltdown [feedly]

Central banks 'out of ammo' to reverse economic meltdown
// Personal Liberty Digest™
Central banks throughout the world have set the global economy on course for a devastating crash. And as the harsh economic reality sets in, the world's money manipulators are being forced to admit they're powerless to soften the consequences of their reckless easy money policies.
In a recent conversation with CNN Money, investment strategist Ed Yardeni put the troubling economic news as simply as possible, saying: "Major central banks have run out of ammo."
What he means is that central banks like the U.S. Federal Reserve have long pinned their hopes for a strong global economic future on easy money policies, driving down interest rates and artificially stimulating economies via fiat money pumping.
The policies have created a global addiction to easy money without actually doing much to create new demand for goods and services.
In December, Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen announced that the Fed would begin easing off its stimulus efforts because markets were looking up in the U.S. and globally. The claim was betrayed by all sorts of evidence to the contrary— but markets in the U.S. did jump a bit following her announcement.
It didn't take long for reality to set in, leading to big dips on Wall Street for the remainder of the month. December ended up being the most economically volatile final month of the year since the economic crisis that rocked the world in 2008.
William White, the chair of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)'s review committee, recently told Bloomberg Business that the failure of low interest and quantitative easing programs worldwide is evident to anyone paying attention.
"The objective of that policy has changed totally — it's trying to stimulate aggregate demand and the honest truth is that it's not capable of doing that in a sustainable way," White said. "If people thought we were in a period of deleveraging that would set the scene for a period of robust growth. We haven't even started yet."
The policies, which have become modus operandi throughout Europe and in Japan as well, are doing little more than creating a global mountain of debt that financial experts never expect to be paid down.
That means a lot of people who own assets tied up in the debt are in for a rude awakening once the world reaches peak economic chaos in the months ahead.

Former DHS employee: Obama threw open the door for terror attacks
// Personal Liberty Digest™
Former Department of Homeland Security employee and whistleblower Phillip Haney just revealed that the Obama administration is hugely responsible for terror attempts on the U.S.
In an op-ed for The Hill, Haney reveals that the White House threw the nation's intelligence community under the bus in the early days of Obama's presidential tenure by blaming the 2009 "underwear bombing" attempt on a U.S. airliner on intelligence failures.
"This was not a failure to collect intelligence, it was a failure to integrate and understand the intelligence that we already had," Obama told Americans at the time.
But, Haney said, the attempt was a symptom of a politically correct whitewashing of terror-linked immigrants' records that has become standard under the current president's administration.
He wrote: "His words infuriated many of us because we knew his administration had been engaged in a bureaucratic effort to destroy the raw material—the actual intelligence we had collected for years, and erase those dots. The dots constitute the intelligence needed to keep Americans safe, and the Obama administration was ordering they be wiped away."
According to the former DHS employee, he and his colleagues were ordered to "delete or modify several hundred records of individuals tied to designated Islamist terror groups" in the days leading up to the 2009 terror attempt.
Haney contends that Obama's political correctness at all costs is inevitably going to result in a "devastating, mass-casualty attack" on the homeland.
"Every day, DHS Customs and Border Protection officers watch entering and exiting many individuals associated with known terrorist affiliations, then look for patterns," he wrote. "Enforcing a political scrubbing of records of Muslims greatly affected our ability to do that."
And as Obama's loose immigration and refugee policies continue to allow thousands more people to enter the nation without vetting, Haney believes the threat is increasing at an astounding rate.

Baby Swordfish Fits on the Tip of a Finger
// Neatorama

He's perhaps only an inch long. But in a year, he could be over 3 feet long! Juan C. Levesque, a graduate student and fisheries professional, says that the broadbill swordfish (Xiphias gladius) is called the "gladiator of the sea." In a 2014 article for the magazine Florida Sportsman, Levesque describes the life cycle of this fighting fish prized by fishermen:
On average, swordfish grow about 14 inches per year, but there are differences between the sexes. Female swordfish grow faster, live longer, and reach a larger size than male swordfish; almost every swordfish I weighed that was heavier than 200 pounds was a female. It has been reported that swordfish can top 14 feet and 1,400 pounds in weight, but these large fish are rare these days. In my 7 years collecting data on commercial fishing vessels, the largest swordfish I ever saw captured was around 500 pounds; it was caught near West Palm Beach, Florida.
