Should you buy counterfeit batteries? [VIDEO]

I may have gotten some counterfeit Energizer batteries at Wal-mart lately.
I have had several pieces of equipment damaged and destroyed due to these batteries in the last 6 months.
I purchased one pack of batteries and before I even opened the pack several had burst and leaked in the packaging.
I had used these batteries for years and have had no trouble in the past.

I used to use the Duracell for years but found the Energizer to last just as long but much cheaper but had never had any leakage from the Duracells even after years of non use..

I have switched back to the Duracell but I have experimented with the Quantum battery and have been pleasantly surprised at the longer life although higher priced battery but maybe I won't have damaged equipment from their use.

My mother wanted me to look at her flashlight a couple of days ago as it had quit working. The first thing I asked was had she replaced the batteries in it lately and her response was "last week". I then asked what brand and it was the Energizer she thought. I had to destroy the case just to prove to her that it was indeed corroded batteries as I suspected after all the problems I had been having with them recently. The batteries were the culprit as the case was corroded shut. Watch this video and it may shed some light on the problem. I have heard of this problem for years now but I had not had any personal experience with it until maybe lately.
