Subj: It's about more than chicken sandwiches

Dear Friends,
This morning it was "my pleasure" to join CNN and weigh in on the debate surrounding Chick-Fil-A and our Constitutional right to free speech. (Check out the video below to watch me explain why people of faith and those who value our 1st Amendment rights are supporting this great business.)As a businessman myself, I've always appreciated Chick-Fil-A not just for the delicious food and good service they offer, but also for the family values the company holds. Considering the Christian values Chick-Fil-A is so known for, it's not surprising that the company's Chief Operating Officer, Dan Cathy, chose to publicly express those values. Rather, what has been surprising to me is the series of venomous and hypocritical attacks that have resulted from the far Left, even to the point of liberal city leaders vowing to revoke or deny Chick-Fil-A's business licenses.
Friends, when government leaders threaten to impede the business of a private citizen simply because of disagreements with their personal views, not only is that wrong and a prime example of the government acting as a bully, but it is a massive violation of the Constitution.
This debate, it seems, is about much more than Chick-Fil-A's family values. It's about the shocking intrusion of government officials by attempting to punish private citizens simply because of a difference in personal creed. Ultimately, it comes down to our personal freedom of religion and 1st Amendment rights to express those without fear of government recourse.
Like many of you I decided to take part in "Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day", joining millions others in not only supporting a good company, but standing for conservative principles and the freedom to express them.
